Bicycle trips

Our bicycle fleet is equipped with a wide-range of Bianchi carbon-fiber Intenso, disk-brake bicycles. These monocoque endurance road bicycles are Shimano Ultegra equipped with a compact cranckset and 11-32 cassettes. Made for dirt roads, chip seal and smooth pavement, these are top-of-the-line Italian designed road bikes.

With a 28mm tire clearance, you can expect to find wider tires on your road bike. These tires give you more grip on the pavement and more peace of mind on descents. 

Some trips may switch out the Bianchi Intenso Disk with the Pinarello GAN Disk. Be rest assured, the gearing and componentry is exactly the same. There is nothing like Italian design and engineering flying along the European countryside. All bicycles come with front and rear lights to be seen at all times of the day.

 

GPS / TRACKING

Bicycle trips

GPS technology is constantly changing. Adams & Peabody is continuously attending trade shows and tech meetings to see what is next on the market.

Presently, we use Garmin 810 GPS units on all of our bicycle trips. These are solid, state-of-the-art navigational units. Our tracks are made internaly using a number of computer and open-souce software. Our method of cross-referencing data points over various programs means you won’t get lost in the Provençal countryside.

You can also bring your own unit and our team will download the tracks onto your device. In the future, we will be using cycling programs (such as MapMyRide) to create and navigate our routes.

We aren’t just hooked-up to the latest and greatest technology. We also know how to read.

Our staff grew up reading maps, the terrain and the weather. Every morning we will give you a thorough run-through of the day’s itinerary, our stops and what makes our journey great. It is this service and our attention to detail that identifies Adams & Peabody as a professional guide company.

Written documentation will also be available on request. However, our commitment to a clean planet means all of our litterature is electronic copy and can be emailed or messaged to you.

 

Motorized transport

Bicycle trips / cooking trips

All of our cooking and bicycle tours feature comfortable and air-conditioned 8-passenger vehicles.

Cooking trips with over 4 participants will be shuttled by vehicles of 10- to 18-passenger buses. Whereas all of our bicycle adventures are assisted by 8-passanger Renault Trafic vans. If we need larger vehicles (for rain days or to move the group) we hire out buses from a local contractor.

All of our local contractors are professionals. We never cut the corners when it comes to vehicle safety for our guests.
